Ukrainian Handwriting Book_cover-01

The slanted guidelines in the workbook were very helpful, especially at the beginning. I found the most helpful Natalia Pendur’s introduction, pp 9-11. And then – and still, constantly, at this three-month stage – the double page spread, pp 12-13, showing the printed and cursive alphabets side-by-side. And I liked the “structured” progressive nature of the book: starting with the easier letters – “O” !! – before building up to the later ones.

And yes, at times the little illustrations and “diversions” were helpful to keep me interested. (For example, p 38 and the beavers “скоромовка”. (And by the way, it’s only now as I type that, that I have realised how the word is “скоро” + “мовка” !!)

I think it’s excellent. “Goldilocks!” Seriously: it contains a lot of material, and a lot of work for the student, but not too much.
