I bought the book to practice reading and listening to Ukrainian, and it’s been great so far for my level. The chapters are short, so I don’t get overwhelmed, but I still learn a lot of new words each chapter, as well as getting listening/comprehension and pronunciation practice. I usually listen to it once, then read it once through silently, then again with the recording out loud, and then listen a fourth time without the book to see if I can catch all the words and understand the story, after which I do the exercises. And the story is well done, too!
The context makes it much easier to remember words and phrases as opposed to endlessly trying to memorize vocabulary lists. For only 10-15 minutes a day, I learn a lot of Ukrainian, especially pairing it every so often (I’m extremely lazy) with a Ukrainian lessons podcast.
I’m only 6 chapters in so far, but wanted to let you know it’s a great resource! I’d absolutely recommend this to others learning Ukrainian below the advanced level.
