I’ve been learning Ukrainian for 11 months now and it’s been a blast. As a baby learner, I was first really excited about this new language and the new communication skills I would get (especially important for the war context), and I was also feeling a bit naive about the complexity of this language. Then, a lot of waves of demotivation kicked in, and it frequently felt like I was rolling back to the starting point over and over again. It didn’t matter how many resources I could get; it seemed like non of them was good enough. Thankfully, I started having some private lessons and my teacher strongly advised the Ukrainian Lessons Podcast. Man, what a boost of knowledge and motivation it gave me. Progressed happened, and one day I came across this intriguing book that everyone was talking so well about. What was it that made “Як Іноземці Козака Рятували” so popular among learners? After purchasing it, I finally got it: outstanding isn’t enough to describe the quality of this incredible learning tool. You get to dive in a rather intriguing story line, and at the same time you keep on learning AND ASSIMILATING an incredibly good about of vocabulary. And I’ve only read six chapters. It is that good!
